Xmas Dinner

Hello. Today, I had a Xmas Dinner with my friends. My friends invited me Okonomiyaki Party.

Okonomiyaki is Japanese Pancake. It is very popular food in Japan.

This is from internet explanation...

"Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning "what you like" or "what you want", and yaki meaning "grilled" or "cooked" (cf. yakitori and yakisoba). Okonomiyaki is mainly associated with Kansai or Hiroshima areas of Japan, but is widely available throughout the country. Toppings and batters tend to vary according to region".

It was soooooo delicious!!!

We also cooked Special Miyazaki Beef. It was sooooo good. This beef comes from Miyazaki, South part of Japan, so it is called Miyazaki Beef.

It was really nice Xmas dinner. Please enjoy the pictures.

My favorite Japanese Sweet!

Hi. I am so sorry... long time no see, everyone.

Merry Xmas!!!

I would like to talk about one of my favorite Japanese Sweet. When I went to Kyoto station, I found one of my favorite Sweet. It is called Akafuku!!! This is one of favorite sweet in Japan. It is little sweet I think, but it is goooood.

Their website says;

Akafuku mochi is a Japanese mochi confection made by placing an sweet bean paste on mochi pounded rice. The shape of the treat resembles the Isuzugawa River, which flows through the Ise Jingu area, reflecting an image of the flowing stream. The three lines of an represent the clear, flowing water of the river, while the white mochi represents the pebbles of the riverbed. Company tradition has it that our name, Akafuku is from two characters borrowed from our founding concept of “Sekishin Keifuku”.

Tempura

My friend took me Tempura restaurant in Ginza. That was my first time to go to Tempura Restaurant. I went to many restaurants which served Tempura, but that restaurant was only Tempura dishes, and specially in Ginza.
The restaurant serves Edo-Mae (traditional Tokyo-style) tempura, and there is only one Chef.

This is the comments from their brochure;

"We take the freshest seasonal ingredients, coat them in a delicious, light batter, and fry them quickly in hot oil to capture all of the flavor without losing any of the nutritional goodness."

Honestly, it was so delicious, and not oily. I really recommend this Tempura restaurant for you. I was really surprised at the taste of Tempura. It was really delicious Tempura. I really enjoyed the time for my first Tempura Restaurant.

If you want to know the name of restaurant, please let me know.

Thank you.

Today's Dinner with Mom

I had a dinner with my mom tonight. My dad went to fishing, so we decided to have dinner together. We went to Soba restaurant for lunch, so we were not too hungry... that was why we had light dinner. My mom's cooking is always delicious, and that is why I do not cook anything when I am in Japan. I love mom's cooking. All my Japanese recipes are from my mom. Mom always cooks a lot of dishes for dinner, but today we were not too hungry. So she cooked few dishes tonight. I need to learn more mom's recipes from my mom.........

Thank you very much, mom.

I am so sorry about pictures' quality...

Momoko's Nail

Momoko is one of my best friend, and she is Nailist. Her design idea is so cute. I really like her design for Nails and want to share some her designs for nails. I think she has special skills for design and love her ideas for designs, which are unique, cute, and sweet.

Thank you, Momoko!!!

Soba Noodle Restaurant

I told you that I went to my favorite Soba noodle restaurant for my B-day dinner. I did not have special B-day event, but I just had dinner with my Mom and Dad.

My favorite Soba restaurant is very close to my parent house. We usually go there with my family. I took my friends there sometimes, and they like the restaurant, too.

It will be hard explain only the words, so please see the pictures and find out what we had for the dinner.

I really like this Soba Noodle restaurant because this restaurant is family owned and very friendly. When I go there, I feel I come back to my hometown. If you have chance, I will take you there, so let me know. I will also give you more information about this restaurant.

Actually, I went there for today's lunch with my mom and dad. It was sooooo delicious.

You need to try it!!!
